OCCUPATION & HABITATION LICENCES
Currently the submission (registration receipt) of having applied for an Occupation License (not the license itself), is required to sign for a property sale at any Notary within Alicante. The document, also called Habitation License or Habitation Cedule, is achieved by submitting a dossier with the compilation of the Title Deeds, water and electricity bills, annual Townhall tax, and NIE, one or more certificates by an Architect and sometimes complete plans of the property. Requirements and the amount of Registration Tax necessary for the certificate vary greatly between the different municipalities. Here is a list of the most common Townhall registration taxes in the area:

- Orihuela: From 102 - 111€ (depending on build size)
- San Miguel de Salinas: 100€
- Daya Nueva: 50€
- Rojales: 50€
- Torrevieja: 17.50

Registration Tax is paid to the Townhall before having the Licence issued. Note that Registration taxes are not applicable to IVA.

As previously explained, the cost of an Occupation Licence completely depends on your Townhall, for example the Registration Fee in Orihuela is 111 € as opposed to 17,50€ in Torrrevieja, hence why we always have to quote for each area. Also some of our clients like to do the registration process themselves to save money, as we only offer to do the registration on behalf of the owner simply to make all the process trouble free.
